The Miami Dolphins announced they have waived linebacker Shaquil Barrett from the reserve/retired list.
Barrett, who signed with Miami on March 18, 2024 and retired on July 22, 2024, has played nine NFL seasons, four with Denver (2015-18) and five with Tampa Bay (2019-23). He has appeared in 131 games with 85 starts, totaling 383 tackles (276 solo), 59.0 sacks, three interceptions, 18 passes defensed, 22 forced fumbles and five fumble recoveries. Barrett also played in 11 postseason games with eight starts. He is a two-time Pro Bowl selection (2019, 2021), and a two-time Super Bowl champion (50, LV). Barrett originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Denver in 2014 following a collegiate career at Colorado State.
