The Miami Dolphins announced today that they have signed cornerback Artie Burns as an unrestricted free agent.
Burns is entering his 10th NFL season after spending time with Pittsburgh (2016-19), Chicago (2020-21) and Seattle (2022-24). He has appeared in 90 career games with 39 starts, totaling 192 tackles (151 solo), four interceptions, 38 passes defensed, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries. He also started in four postseason games with Pittsburgh in 2016-17, recording 15 tackles (11 solo), two passes defensed and one fumble recovery. He entered the league as a first-round selection (25th overall) by Pittsburgh in the 2016 NFL Draft. A Miami native, Burns attended Miami Northwestern High School and played collegiately at the University of Miami (2013-15), where he appeared in 36 games with 23 starts and recorded 93 tackles (65 solo), 2.0 sacks, 3.0 tackles for loss, seven interceptions, 14 passes defended, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery in three seasons with the Hurricanes.
