The Miami Dolphins announced they have signed defensive tackle Neil Farrell to the practice squad and release tight end Hayden Rucci from the practice squad.
Farrell has appeared in 19 career games with Las Vegas (2022), Kansas City (2023) and Miami (2024), recording 15 tackles (five solo), one pass defensed and two tackles for loss. He played in seven games with Miami in 2024 and recorded two tackles (one solo). Farrell originally entered the league as a fourth-round selection (126th overall) by Las Vegas in the 2022 NFL Draft. He played collegiately at LSU (2017-21), where he appeared in 52 career games with 21 starts and recorded 144 tackles (55 solo), 7.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and five passes defensed.
Rucci entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with the Dolphins on May 10, 2024. He spent the offseason program and training camp with Miami and has had multiple stints on the practice squad. He played collegiately at Wisconsin, where he appeared in 36 games with 18 starts during four seasons (2020-23). He caught 17 passes for 200 yards (11.8 avg.) and one touchdown for the Badgers and was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection in 2020, 2021 and 2023.
