Dolphins Sign Evan Brown, Awarded Mack Hollins

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have signed center Evan Brown off the N.Y. Giants practice squad and were awarded wide receiver Mack Hollins off waivers from Philadelphia. The team waived/injured cornerback Ken Crawley and waived center/guard Chris Reed.

Brown made his NFL debut on Nov. 10, 2019 as a member of the Giants but has spent the majority of the season on the team's practice squad. He originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with the Giants on May 11, 2018 and was on the team's active roster for the entire season but did not appear in a game. Brown played collegiately at Southern Methodist University.

Hollins has played in 28 NFL games with three starts over two seasons (2017, 2019) with Philadelphia. He has totaled 26 career receptions for 351 yards (13.5 avg.) and one touchdown. He missed the entire 2018 season on injured reserve. Hollins originally entered the NFL as a fourth-round pick (118th overall) in the 2017 NFL draft.

Crawley played in four games with two starts for the Dolphins this season. He was acquired off waivers from New Orleans on Oct. 30, 2019. He also spent three-plus seasons (2016-19) with the Saints. In his career, Crawley has totaled 43 games played, 25 starts, 134 tackles (121 solo), one interception and 31 passes defensed. He originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with New Orleans on May 9, 2016.

Reed has played in five games with one start for Miami in 2019. He joined the team as a free agent signing on March 18, 2019. Reed has played in 30 career games with nine starts after spending parts of three seasons (2016-18) with Jacksonville. He originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with the Jaguars on May 8, 2015.
