MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have promoted safety Montre Hartage to the active roster and waived cornerback Xavier Crawford.
Hartage is making his first appearance on an NFL active roster. He was signed by Miami as an undrafted college free agent on May 9, 2019 and waived in the final roster cut on Sept. 1, 2019. Hartage played collegiately at Northwestern, here he was a four-year letterman (2015-18) and three-year starter. As a senior in 2018, Hartage was a first-team All-Big Ten selection and was tied for third in the conference with 15 passes defensed.
Crawford was awarded off waivers to the Dolphins on Oct. 29, 2019 and appeared in one game with the team but did not record any stats. He was a sixth-round pick (195th overall) by Houston in the 2019 NFL draft and played four games for the Texans. Crawford played one season collegiately at Central Michigan (2018) after transferring from Oregon State.
