MIAMI – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have promoted cornerback Jalen Davisto the active roster and waived cornerback Dee Delaney.
Davisoriginally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with Miami on May 10, 2018 and has spent the entire season on Miami's practice squad. He was a four-year starter at Utah State (2014-17), where he left school as the program's all-time career leader in passes defensed (48). He finished his collegiate career second in school history in games played (49) and interception return yards (242) and fourth in interceptions (11). Davis was a first-team All-American and first-team All-Mountain West selection as a senior in 2017.
Delaneywas claimed off waivers by Miami on Dec. 4, 2018. Heplayed in two games for Jacksonville this season but did not record any statistics. He spent several stints on Jacksonville's practice squad and active roster. Delaney originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Jacksonville on April 30, 2018. He was a one-year starter at the University of Miami, playing in 10 games with six starts as a senior in 2017 after transferring as a graduate from The Citadel.
