Sameer Istafa first joined the Miami Dolphins in 2019 and was named vice president & chief technology officer in 2023. In his role, Istafa oversees technology and broadcast for the organization and its properties including the Miami Open and Formula 1® Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix focusing on technology infrastructure, cybersecurity and information systems.
Istafa returned to the Dolphins in 2023 after a season with the Atlanta Hawks and State Farm Arena serving as vice president of information & network security, where he was responsible for managing the arena's technology and cybersecurity.
In his previous role, Istafa served the Miami Dolphins and Hard Rock Stadium as senior director of information & technology where he supported significant organizational milestones including directing Hard Rock Stadium's cybersecurity efforts for Super Bowl LIV, migrating technology to the newly constructed Baptist Health Training Complex and expanding infrastructure resources for the inaugural Formula 1® Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix.
Istafa joined the Dolphins following a 15-year career with AmericasMart Atlanta where he held various technology positions overseeing the organization's IT infrastructure.
Istafa is a graduate of Georgia State University where he earned his bachelor's degree in computer information systems. Istafa and his wife, Nadia, reside in Parkland with their three children, Laiba, Shayan and Wali.
