How to Watch, Stream & Listen: Miami Dolphins vs Jacksonville Jaguars

The Dolphins are at home to open the season for the second time in the last five years. They'll put their three-game season-opening win streak on the line against a team making the trip down I-95 in the Jacksonville Jaguars. Read a preview on the upcoming home opener and how to watch, listen and livestream on Sunday.

The Dolphins roster saw roughly 40 percent turnover this offseason, but the names on the marquee are the same.

After leading the NFL in passing yards (4,624), quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was rewarded with a four-year contract extension. His top target, wide receiver Tyreek Hill, became the first player in NFL history to post back-to-back seasons with better than 1,700 receiving yards. The triumvirate was completed when wide receiver Jaylen Waddle, who became the first Miami Dolphin to record three-straight 1,000-yard receiving seasons to begin his career, was also extended this offseason.

Tagovailoa, Hill, Waddle and the rest of the Miami offense produced 6,822 yards and 496 points, ranking first and second in those critical areas.

The Dolphins will look to make it three consecutive trips to the postseason, which would be the first time that's happened the 1999-2001 seasons.

The Jaguars were one win away from making their own back-to-back trips to the playoffs. After an 8-3 start, an injury to quarterback Trevor Lawrence swung their fortunes down the stretch. A four-game losing streak gave the Jags a two-game season to breakthrough. Part one went their way as they shut out the Carolina Panthers 26-0 in Week 17, but fell to the 5-10 Tennessee Titans in the finale to miss out on the postseason party.

Lawrence led the Jags to the 13th ranked offensive attack in 2023, but that didn't stop them from adding to that group. First-round pick Brian Thomas Jr. was one of the most explosive wide receivers in college football last season for the LSU Tigers. They also signed former Buffalo wide receiver Gabe Davis to bolster their receiving corps.

For a defense that ranked 22nd a year ago, Head Coach Doug Pederson made a change. Ryan Nielsen was the defensive coordinator for the Falcons last season and accepted the same title for the Jaguars this year. He gets a new piece on the defensive line as former 49ers defensive tackle Arik Armstead signed with Jacksonville in March.

Barring a tie score, Sunday will be the rubber match in the all-time Dolphins-Jaguars series. The two teams have split 10 meetings all-time with five wins apiece (Jacksonville does have the edge with a victory in the lone postseason meeting after the 1999 season).

Jacksonville won the last meeting with a buzzer-beater field goal in a game played in London in 2021, 23-20. The Jags also won the last Dolphins-Jaguars game at Hard Rock Stadium with a 17-7 win in Week 16 of the 2018 season. The last meeting between the in-state rivals played stateside went to the Fins – a 31-13 win on a Thursday night in the 2020 season.
