Dolphins Make Roster Moves

The Miami Dolphins announced today that they have signed cornerback Ryan Cooper Jr. and placed cornerback Jason Maitre on the injured reserve list.

Cooper Jr. entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent in 2024 with Baltimore, where he spent the season on the practice squad and appeared in one game. He was signed to a reserve/future contract with Seattle after the 2024 season and spent part of the offseason program with the Dolphins after being awarded to Miami off waivers on Feb. 24, 2025. Cooper Jr. finished his collegiate career at Oregon State (2022-23), where he appeared in 23 games and recorded 82 tackles (52 solo), 1.5 sacks, four interceptions and 22 passes defensed in two seasons with the Beavers. He was a two-year starter at the College of San Mateo in California prior to transferring to Oregon State.

Maitre entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Miami on May 14, 2024. He spent the offseason program and training camp with the Dolphins before being released on Aug. 27, 2024. He rejoined the team on Dec. 4, 2024, spending the final month of the regular season on the practice squad. He spent his final collegiate season at Wisconsin, where he played in 12 games with nine starts and totaled 33 tackles (24 solo), one interception and four passes defensed. Maitre transferred from Boston College, where he spent five years (2018-22) and tallied 133 tackles (86 solo), 4.0 sacks, three interceptions and 22 passes defensed in 44 games for the Eagles.
